Me, my dad, my brothers and our dog went on a walk. We went to a campsite that we used to go to, and walked in the woods around it. It was really cool. The woods sort of went around this marshy pond, and we got some great views. At one point in the woods, there was a "Balance Rock." It is this big rock that seems to balance on a little corner, but is perfectly stable. I climbed on it and took some pictures. At this one part (out of the woods) there was a playground. It just had a couple of slides, though. They were the metal kind that you have to climb up the ladder and slide down and it makes a really loud noise. But our dog Ouzo climbed up the ladder and slid down! It was so cute! I took a picture of it.

I have a bit of a sore throat today. The rest of my family are a lot better than they were yesterday, but I just have a sore throat. And I am really tired, but that's probably from the intense hour of ballet I just got back from.

Sunday, November 28, 2004

We are all sick and dying, so we didn't go to church today. Um, we all have a little cold, but we are not exactly dying. But today was a hang day. I gave my mom a pedicure and massaged her head and shoulders - I live to serve my mother. She does so much for me and I don't do enough to pay her back. But now she is paying me for the pedicure and massage.

Saturday, November 27, 2004

Well, today was a clean-the-house day. I vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned the bathroom. It wasn't that exciting. The most exciting part is that we got Subway sandwiches for lunch! I love Subways, and hardly ever get them, so it was very exciting. Although I couldn't get my normal sub because of the stupid low sodium diet. I like to get American cheese, pickles, turkey, mayonnaise, salt and pepper, and lettuce. But I had to drop the turkey, salt, and pickles. I really hope my kidney thing clears up. Then I will eat salt again! And the steroids I have to take taste awful! They leave this horrible, bitter taste on my whole tongue and all the way down my throat! I gag after taking them.

Friday, November 26, 2004

We went to see The Spongebob Squarepants Movie today! It was really funny. I love Spongebob - who doesn't? All of my friends like Spongebob, but their older sister are "too cool" to like Spongebob. But I know they secretly love him on the inside.

Thursday, November 25, 2004

Happy Thanksgiving! We went to a Thanksgiving service at church, then had Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's house. It was so good! They tried grilling a turkey, which was really good, and the stuffing I ate a lot of, and the mashed potatoes were so buttery! I think I went over my sodium limit. I have to be careful tomorrow.

Wednesday, November 24, 2004

I went to the Doctor for a follow-up appointment for my kidneys. Good news! The protein level is normal in my urine - like you needed to know that. But after just a week of treatment, the protein went down. The Doctor thinks I am going to be fine, but I still have to finish the month of steroids.

After the doctor's appointment, we went to the car place to get the van worked on. The car place is close to Target, so we went there while the car got worked on. It was hard to eat anything because of this stupid low sodium diet. Oh, how hard this will be for Thanksgiving!

Tuesday, November 23, 2004

Wow! I finished a full day of school before lunch time! All of it! I was really excited. I cleaned my mom's bathroom, and dusted, and cleaned the floor for some money, we are going to Target - again - tomorrow. The van needs more work, so we always take the shuttle (a guy who works there that drives you places in a mini van) to Target, maybe even the mall. The car place is just a few minutes away from the Target/mall area.

After lunch, my dad took me and my brother Stephen on a walk. We were just going to walk on the road to a saw mill near us, but we found some woods that have a trail that leads to it, so we took the woods! It was really cool. The woods were nice and spread apart. And it made the walk a little longer, which was good. The saw mill was huge!!! You could just barely see the end of it. It was really cool. Then we took the woods back home. And that is the end of my adventure. Thank you, good night.

Monday, November 22, 2004

Gee, I had a Clementine for lunch, and my hands still smell citrusy at 7:00 pm! I love Clementines. After you eat one or two it's hard to stop eating them.

I finished all of my school early today! 3:00 pm, that is. And for starting at 9:00 am, that's pretty good. I got up at 7:30 this morning, which is really early for me. I am trying to get used to getting up earlier. Although it makes the day seem longer...

Sunday, November 21, 2004

Well, today was normal church! The priest's daughter's kittens were there again. They are so cute! They have gotten a little bigger and can walk a little more now. I would want one, but our cats and dog would probably eat it, and they only stay kittens for so long. Not that they're not cute when they're grown, but the main appeal to get a cat is when they are kittens.

Saturday, November 20, 2004

I slept in kind of late, not really. I hate it how on school days I never want to get up, and on weekends I am awake by 7:30! Although on Sundays I don't want to get up because we have church at 9:30. I hate it - the waking up part, I like church.

We went for a walk into town. It was about four miles, but pretty flat all the way, so it was easy. It was a really nice day to get out and do something.

November 19

I am hyper today. I think it's because of my medication. At tap today I wanted to go faster than everyone else, and I wasn't tired at all after class!

I found out almost last minute from my friend Megan that there was a dance at the school. I went with Megan. It was kind of boring. They play lame songs. When I got home, I was so energy drained. I sat down on the sofa and couldn't really get off for a bit. I think my medication wore off. Then when I went to bed, I fell asleep in one position, and when I woke up I was still in that same position. Normally I am a wild sleeper! I wake up and my sheets are halfway (or all the way) off of my bed!

Thursday, November 18, 2004

I finished my school at two o'clock this afternoon! That is, like, the first time I've done that, dude! Dude! I don't really talk like that. I was excited. Note my enthusiasm. My little brother had a Doctor's appointment, me and my other brother went too. We didn't need check-ups, we were just bored at home.

I had a sewing lesson! I cut out the pattern pieces I pinned on the fabric last time I was their. So now I have to pin on two or three more sets of pieces on the fabric and cut them out. Whew! I can't wait I'm done with it (I'm making a skirt). It'll look so cool!

I started taking my fat pills (steroids) today. I haven't noticed a difference any side affects - yet. I hate my kidneys. I wish they were all better and I didn't have to go through all of this. But it's better that cancer. I just read a sad story in the newspaper about a six year old girl who has a sort of eye cancer. When she was one and a half, she had to get one of her eyes removed, and her doctor just found a tumor in the other eye. I feel so sorry for her. Her parents are going to take her to another Doctor to try to cure this. Cancer is one of the only things that's okay to hate.

Wednesday, November 17, 2004

The results of my ultrasound and blood test came in - they are fine. But my 24 hour urine collection had a lot of protein in it. I went to the Doctor's office and he diagnosed me with Minimal Change Disease, which can lead to Nephrotic Syndrome if left untreated. My kidneys!!!! AAAAAAHH!!!! I have to take steroids for one month solid, and then taper off of them. And I have to go to the Doctor once a week while this is happening. I have to be on a zero added salt diet, which won't be so hard since I don't add salt to my food anyway. But that means NO potato chips - which I don't eat a lot anyway - and no salty canned foods, I think it's temporary. But I haven't noticed any pain in my kidneys - I don't feel ANY difference at all since this started. The Doctor said it's because I have a really healthy diet. So this will be a pain. And the steroids can make me gain weight! And it might make me a little moody, but I do not want to gain weight. That's why I am seeing a Nutritionist on Friday. She'll probably give me guidelines for preparing foods and what to eat and what not to eat. So I hope that will help. I don't want to gain weight! I don't care if I'm a bit moody, I care about the weight!

Tuesday, November 16, 2004

Well, nothing except school happened today! Today is my friend Maria's birthday! But nothing interesting happened. I am done with school, and I am going to bed soon, um, that's it!

Monday, November 15, 2004

It was so hard to do ballet because of the "Standard Poodle" incident. I couldn't do most of the things that involved a bend of the knee. Ugh. And it's hard to sit down without bending my knees. And once my knees get used to being bent, I have to get up and they hurt again. This is really annoying.

One thing I love about blogs is that I can sort of release my not-to-private emotions (like the one above) without making a scene about it. Written diaries aren't enough. I never really got into the written diary thing. And if somebody read it, they would kind of be disappointed because I have no secrets. Well, except for that one time...just kidding. But I really don't have any good secrets

Sunday, November 14, 2004

Church was half an hour later because there was a baptism. There was family of the baby coming from different states, so the priest decided to move the service and baptism to 10:00 am instead of 9:30. It was nice to be able to sleep in a little later.

After church was when things got nasty. I was running on the cement walk-way that leads to the church entrance (I was running away from the entrance to where my friends were) and the most obnoxious, annoying, icky, awful Standard Poodle comes running right behind me and tripped me. On the cement. For a split second I thought I had died, then I realized that I did die - AAAAAAAHH!!!! Then I got better. But what had happened was my hand smacked the cement and skidded a bit, my other hand got a bit of scraping, both of my knees got scraped pretty badly, and my elbow got a bit too. Two of my fingers got some of the skin ripped of on the top. Oh yeah, it was pretty bloody. But I didn't cry. You cannot make me cry! Sniff! It's really hard to type right now! And I can't really walk - only with straight legs. Ow.

One thing that made me feel a little better was that the priest's daughter's cat had kittens a couple weeks ago and showed them to us after church! They are fuzzy! They made funny little meowing sounds when you picked them up! They weighed practically nothing! They are adorable! The mom was a pretty cat. And the mom wasn't even a year old. But the kittens! It was fun to watch them feed, because they would do adorable little purrs, and they would kneed their mom's stomach! One of them was really aggressive about feeding, and would push the others out of the way. It was so funny!

Saturday, November 13, 2004

Today was an awesome Saturday. Nothing much happened, but that was why it was so good! I spent the whole day in my Spongebob pajamas! I cleaned my room a little bit, my brother went to karate, it was a nice, relaxing day.

Friday, November 12, 2004

Nothing happened yesterday - just school. I had a sewing lesson, but the seamstress got sick and had to cancel.

We went to Concord car place because we had to get our van worked on. On of the windows make a weird noise when it goes down, and my door is really hard to get open. While we waited, we took the shuttle van (a guy that drives a van to take you places. He works at the car place for this purpose) to Target. We got lunch at the 99 restaurant. And by the time we were finished, our van was done. That was my exciting day. Thank you.

Wednesday, November 10, 2004

We had hairs cut today. I actually didn't get them cut, I just got it washed and had it braided. My hair is too short to put in a pony tail, but long enough so that the lady at the hair salon could do two French braids in it.

Jazz was really fun. We learned more of a modern dance to slower music. It was nice to take a little break from the hip-hop.

Tuesday, November 09, 2004

I had to get up at 7:00 this morning to go to the hospital because there is a slight chance that I have kidney problems. The doctor isn't worried about it, but they did some tests to make sure. They did an ultra sound, which tickled a lot, and my kidneys looked really funny through the computer thing. They looked like this weird squishy kidney bean shape. Afterwards I got a ton of that goopy stuff all over my clothes. Then I got some blood drawn, which was better than the ultra sound. I remember when I was about six, I had to get some blood drawn. I threw the biggest tantrum, it took about five nurses to hold me down and shove the needle in my elbow. And the embarrassing part is that it didn't even hurt! I was such a brat. It didn't hurt this time either and I didn't throw a tantrum. I am too mature for that, for sure. But the worst part over all is that I couldn't eat or drink anything until it was all over, which was about 9:00 a m! And I felt sleep deprived. It's barbaric to have to get up at 7:00 in the morning! I am just glad I don't go to school, where I would probably have to get up at 6:00. I really hope I don't have kidney problems. That would be bad. Especially if I had to have my blood filtered with that big machine thingy.

We had an oration day with the homeschoolers. I didn't recite anything because I have been really busy lately. But I plan on memorizing something for the next one.

Monday, November 08, 2004

I got all of my school work done pretty early. I was very excited. And for my writing assignment, I wrote about my messy room! Only I cleaned it up when I was done with it.

I had ballet. It was fun, but it was a small class. Um, it wasn't that interesting, except we got measured for our costumes for the recital! Even though the recital is in June, but that's okay. And we start to learn our dance routine in January, except for tap. We have started learning it about a few weeks ago.

Sunday, November 07, 2004

I thought that today was Monday because we went to church for the bake sale yesterday. I hate it when things like that happen. Or if you have a dream that it's Friday, but you wake up and it's Monday, that's the worst. Anyhoo, today was Sam's birthday. My mom had to pick up the cake early to bring to church. Church went well, my mom made French Toast after church for coffee hour. A lady made French Toast as part of the bake sale, and we had some left over ingredients that we didn't want to waste.

After church, me and my friends went outside and discovered a great climbing tree. The branches are low enough that you can get on easily, and there are a ton of other branches to climb on. And at Sunday school, we just started to start our Christmas play! I wish we were doing a comedy, though. It would be easier to memorize our lines! When I used to go to school, the older kids would do really funny Christmas plays, and still have the true meaning of Christmas built in to it.

Saturday, November 06, 2004

There was a bake sale at our church. I had to get up early (7:15 - AAAAAH) if I wanted to go, so I got up early. We got there a little before 9:00 am, and a ton of people (customers and people from church) were already there. I got some clothes from the rummage table, and we got a ton of yummy goodies - that's kind of redundant, isn't it? I also babysat three little girls for a little bit. One of the best yummy goodies we got was a peanut butter pie. I love peanut butter, and this was really good, yet quite fattening. It was this crumbled chocolate cookie crust filled with a peanut butter mixture. Yum.

Friday, November 05, 2004

I flurried (snow) a tiny bit today. It didn't build up or anything, but it was cool. It was freezing today! And super high winds! A power line was knocked down in the middle of the road, but that was fixed. And the power flickered a bit. I thought the tops of trees were going to be knocked off.

Tap was fun. It was a tiny class today - four people including me. My friend at tap thinks her school play is cursed, because four people had bad things happen to them in three days. One boy fell on a metal post and the skin on his head tore, one girl got an athsma attack when they were rehearsing, the girl with the lead role had to quit because her mom made her, and one girl got called "fat" - although that's not as big of a deal as getting your head cracked open! But my friend is worried that bad things will happen to all of the kids in the play.

Thursday, November 04, 2004

Yesterday, all of the interesting things happened at dance. My mom started taking tap, at the same time I have jazz, except it's in a different room.

Today, I had my first sewing lesson. We laid out the fabric and pinned the pattern pieces on it. We will cut it out next week. I can't wait to have it finished!

I decided to go to karate with my mom and Stephen. I got to see what they do for sparring. It looks kind of aggressive, but people don't get hurt - usually.

Tuesday, November 02, 2004

Yesterday I wasn't feeling well, and nothing happened that day, so I didn't do a post. Today is my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday, Mommy! But the only thing that ruined it is that I had an orthodontist appointment from heck. They took x-rays, that wasn't bad. The bad part was that they had to take off some of my brackets and put some new ones on. One of the brackets was really close to my gums, that it nicked the gum a little bit when they took it off. It really hurt, and still really hurts. They took a couple of other brackets off, which didn't hurt nearly as bad, and put some different ones back on. I can't wait to get my braces off. When I do, I will run into the streets that don't have cars on them with my arms flailing about and yell "FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!" and then chew lots of gum. After my orthodontist appointment from heck, we went to Khols and bought me a skirt a Spongebob pajamas. Then we went to a shoe store and I bought a pair of church shoes. Then we went to the dance store and I bought leg warmers for ballet. Pant, pant. The best part was when we bought two pies for my mom. We got pumpkin pie and apple pie. They were good.
