I woke up with a cold, or bad allergies or something. I hurt. I have a sore throat and I felt dizzy and got these weird heat flashes during the day. And my legs are really sore from skiing. I didn't get a lot of school done today, so I have to catch up tomorrow. Ugh.

Skiing was awesome today! My friend picked me up in the morning and we went to the mountain. It was really warm - I skied in a sweatshirt. We skied all day, then I had a dance class. I am kind of tired right now.

My friend invited me to go skiing tomorrow! Yep, in New Hampshire we can still ski. It's kind of sad. But I love to ski, and my friend is going to take the day off of school tomorrow. It will probably be the last day of skiing though. In a way that's a good thing.

My brothers had karate this morning, and I had to go with them because my dad went on a long day hike. Afterwards, we went to the grocery store, not that exciting. It was a gorgeous day, sunny, but we STILL have snow on the ground. Ugh. I am really sick of it. And it's getting to the slushy stage, so it's not that fun to play in anymore.

We had church this morning. It was celebrating the Annunciation. Whenever we have church on a week day, it feels like the next day will be Monday. So now I'm all confused, except I still had to do school, so that helped.

We had orthodontist appointments this afternoon. My teeth really hurt - they adjusted my braces. A cool thing they do there is that you can earn tickets. You can earn them if you are wearing your orthodontist t-shirt, if you have clean teeth, if nothing is broken or missing, and if you bring your brushing tracker. If you save enough tickets, you can trade them in for gift certificates! I got one for The Gap, and a music store. It's a pretty good deal!

My mom was at a lawyer's office all morning to work on the details for my GRAMA moving up here - hi Grama! She'll be moving up here in about two weeks! I can't wait! Except I really need to clean my room before she comes. And the bathroom. Yuck. But I guess she's worth it.

We went skiing today! It was a beautiful day. It was kind of warm, so we just skied in the morning. The trails were perfect, when we were on the summit, we could see as far as the White Mountains - and we were on Mt. Sunapee!

A little while ago, a photographer came to take pictures on our homeschooling for a newspaper. So a reporter came by this afternoon, and asked some questions. That was better than having our picture taken all day!

I got up early to do school again! I finished school work after lunch. At ballet tonight, my teacher talked to me and my two other friends privately. She said that we might be able to move up to the next class! One of them, definitely, but if me and my other friend take a few extra classes, we should be able to move up too! I really hope I can, the class I'm in is way too easy. So this would be good.

It was such a warm day out today! All of the snow out is so gooshy! I can't wait till it all melts. Of course, instead of spring, we have mud season. The snow melts, the mud comes. It is a very messy time of year.

Church today was interesting. My friend who is moving to China, (sniff) her dad is leaving tomorrow. She and her mom and sister are going when she finishes school. Anyway, her dad likes country music, and he probably won't find it on the radio over there, so a couple of people made up a country song for him. It was a really funny song called "There Ain't No Country In China". The people sang it to the whole church (including my friend's dad). I asked for a copy of the song.

I went on three appliance repair jobs with my dad. We worked on an oven, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. The oven job my dad has to order some parts for, so he'll probably be going back to that one. The dishwasher and clothes washer we fixed. It's kind of neat going on jobs. I get paid, I learn, and I help my dad. My dad also likes it when we come because people behave themselves better around kids. When we're not there, he says that costumors complain about the price, or how he does stuff, but when there's a kid around, they are on their best behavior.

Beware! It's Friday the 18! I don't really know what that has to do with anything though - it just sounded cool. After tap, we went straight to church for a Lenten service. I was so tired that by the time we got home, I fell asleep before my head even hit the pillow.

Happy St. Patty's Day! Everyone in my family except my brother Stephen wore green. I got to pinch Stephen - ha ha! After that, he took out a jacket that he had and turned it inside-out (the lining was green) and sort of laid on himself. It looked really weird.

Stephen also got his orange belt in karate. The belt test was really cool - lots o' kids!

I got up really early this morning - 5:30, that is. I started school right away, so I was done early. I think that's the first time I've gotten up so early to do school - and it's probably the last. My brother Sam was upset because he gets up around 6:00 usually. He thinks it's some sort of contest to see who gets up earliest and who finishes first. I've always thought he should go to drama school because he can be happy one minute and just all of a sudden break out in tears. Then he can stop immediately as if he never cried. It's really funny.

Well, nothing interesting happened today. My mom's iBook is still adorable! I love it. It's a lot more fun to do my blog. Anyway, we went to the library to get some books for school (like we need more) and my brother had karate. He has his first belt test on Thursday!

It's soo warm out! Even though it was 34 degrees out, me and my brothers didn't wear coats outside. The sun was really bright and warmed things up a lot. The snow was really sticky and wet, so our snow gear was soaked. I can't wait til the snow melts.

My mom got a new computer today! It's an Apple iBook. It is a 12 inch, so it's adorable. My dad got one after his back surgery, so he can lie in bed and work at the same time. My mom got hers because her old PC stank and she got to where she couldn't get online with it anymore. I am using it now, and I love it. But then again, who can resist a brand-new 12 inch computer?

I was able to go to church today. It's the beginning of our Great Lent. We are Orthodox Christians, and most years we celebrate Pascha (Easter) later than the Western Christians, although they were the same day last year.

I did more shoveling today than I ever have in my life! It snowed some last night, so we went out in the morning and cleared the driveway, around the generator, and around the cars. It kept snowing a lot during the day, so after lunch we went back out and cleared the driveway, around the generator, and around the cars. Then after dinner, we went out and cleared the driveway, around the generator, and around the cars. My arms really hurt. I have done enough shoveling for, like, ever.

We switched cable companies today! We were so sick of slow computers, we switched to Verizon DSL. We had Adelphia before, and it became so icky for the past month. My dad was almost constantly using the backup dial-up, and it was faster. DSL is faster than both of those! My dad says he can't wait to make the call to Adelphia saying, "Hello, yes, please disconnect us".

It was sooo windy during the night! I didn't sleep well because of it. In the morning, we had a lot of snow to clear. But the funny thing is that if it wasn't so windy, the cars would have been covered with snow - but there was only a little on the windshields. All of the snow covered up our sledding trail that we just made though.

Tuesday, March 08, 2005

We got a lot of rain today. But then it snowed - and it was dangerously windy. A little later this afternoon, it was so windy - and snowy - it was scary. Just a little while ago I went outside to take some trash out. I the snow came almost up to my knees, and I kept getting knocked over by the wind. Ugh. We are probably going to have a lot of snow to clear tomorrow!

I am feeling a lot better today! My nose is still a little stuffy, but I just chew the Altoid gum. A cable guy came to check out why our internet connection is having problems. He changed something in the box outside - and it seems to be working better so far.

Sunday, March 06, 2005

My cold was really bad today, so my mom didn't let me go to church. And it's too bad, because today is when people bring cheese blintzes! My mom brought some home to me - I have such a nice mommy. And I think I was too sick to go to church anyway. My nose was soooo stuffy. But a good way to temporarily get rid of a stuffy nose it too chew Altoid gum - It's curiously strong! And it works great! It's so minty, it clears your nose right up! The only thing that holds me back from chewing it a lot is my braces. Otherwise I'd be chewing it all day!

I have an icky cold. I had a bad cold a little while ago, then I was okay for a bit. Now I have this icky cold. I had a little bit of it yesterday, but I woke up this morning unable to breath and with a screaming throat. Me and my family have been kind of sickly all winter. My dad got two sinus infections, my mom had a bad cold around Christmas and still feels a little rough, and my brother had chicken pox. Fortunately, we didn't get the flu.

Friday, March 04, 2005

We went to Target today. We got some school work done in the morning, then went after lunch. We have all been needing stuff, so we figured that today was a good day to go. Both me and my mom needed a new watch - we ended up getting the same one each.

I got my tap costume this afternoon! They are really pretty. They are a sort of red dress that comes down to your knees with slits on the side. And they are really sparkly - I still have red glitter all over me.

Thursday, March 03, 2005

The internet connection has been really icky lately. It's really slow, and is really irritating. My dad has been calling the cable company a lot. I am typing this entry on dial-up, and it is sooo much faster! We keep dial-up as a back up source, and we have been using it a lot. We are trying to switch to a different cable company, but they have to service our phone line to see if it'll work on our computer, or something like that. I hope it works out.

This morning a photographer from a newspaper came to our house to take pictures on our homeschooling. She (the photographer) found out about us at the library because that's where we mostly meet. She showed up a little before 9:00 in the morning. We thought that she was just going to stay for an hour. But she stayed until two o'clock in the afternoon! She was nice, and at first it was kind of awkward to continue our morning with a ton of clicking around. But after a couple of hours we got really used to it. She took pictures of us doing school, eating lunch, having recess. I felt like a celebrity! I don't want my picture taken for a while.

We got even more snow today! About 6 inches. We spent a lot of time playing outside - I even made a jump on our sledding hill! It'll probably die in a few days though. All of the jumps I have made in the past always smush down afer a few sleds.
